B5M AUTO BROKERS
Despite the fact that a car purchase is one of the major life investments consumers make in their lifetime, the concept of using an auto broker to help arrange the sale of a vehicle has not yet become widely embraced by the general public - in fact, many people do not even know that using an auto broker is an available option when it comes to making a car purchase. Below we will attempt to outline some of the key benefits that auto brokerage services hold for car buying consumers.
What Is an Auto Broker?
When people are in the market for a new car, they find the process of juggling a job, family life and making several trips to dealerships too much. To lessen the burden, an auto broker can be used to find you the vehicle you are looking for at the right price without ever having to leave your home. Quite simply, an auto broker manages the process of buying a car on behalf of a customer. An auto broker’s job is to help the customer save time and money in the car buying process.
What does an Auto Broker do?
An auto broker essentially does all the car-buying work for the customer. The broker first communicates with the buyer to find out what type of vehicle they’re looking for and their price range. We will try and get their choice of vehicle and see how close you are to deciding on the car and cost. Some clients might even not be sure which vehicle to purchase. If you don’t know exactly what you are looking for, we will do a needs analysis to ascertain which vehicle will be a perfect fit. Together we narrow it down to two or three options in vehicle brands to enable you to make an informed decision.
Once the broker has this information, we work with the dealerships directly and attempt to negotiate the best possible deal for their client. That can even include negotiating the trade in. When a deal is reached, the broker does all the ‘groundwork’ and all the client must do is complete any paperwork needed to finalize the deal. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT HAVE OUR OWN STOCK AND WE DON'T HAVE A SHOWROOM FLOOR - WE ARE NOT A DEALERSHIP!!!
What are the advantages of using an Auto Broker?
As an auto brokerage we cut out all the nonsense when it comes to waiting for a price. We tell customers what the rates are. It’s much more of an honest approach. One of the biggest advantages of hiring an auto broker is they can work to eliminate any unnecessary dealership fees. Auto brokers are now challenged by the internet, but the internet is not telling all of what the person must pay and it most certainly does not give a personal service like we do! We tell the truth and don’t pull any punches. We give them the best prices first.
How much does a car broker cost?
Brokerage fees normally range from R1999 to R4999, depending on who you use. Our standard service fee is R1495 BUT it is FREE (you get your money back) when we source a vehicle for you and you buy it through our channel. We take the haggling out of the car-buying process and we only make money when we get a great deal for you and we can't drive up the fee by putting you in a more expensive car. We have a different service for people who have already shopped and have numbers that want us to improve the deal. In that case we charge a percentage of the amount of money we can save them on the deal. Even when an auto broker's fee is factored into the total expense of the car, the end cost to the consumer is usually less than or equal to the deal they would have got on their own - so minimally, the consumer gets the service of the broker for no extra cost, and in most cases, saves money on top of having the convenience that the broker service provides.
What does an auto broker office set-up look like?
In general, a pure, consumer-driven auto broker usually works out of a small office or home office with a skeleton staff so that there are minimal costs involved, either charging flat-fee buying services to any customer who asks them to or who delivers the service free of charge to the client. Also, don't feel limited to use a broker in your immediate region. We work from web-based traffic and take on clients all over the country and we can do new and used car deals for anyone, no matter where they live.
In the end, most consumers can save hundreds if not thousands of rands by utilizing our professional services to broker the purchase of their next car. But beyond the money, you're also saving hours of hassle in avoiding the traditional walk-up or even an Internet-based dealership experience. And that can be the most valuable benefit of all.
Some questions to Christo Kruger,
Auto Broker at B5M Auto Brokers:
Where do most people go wrong in car deals?
One of the biggest mistakes a consumer makes when buying a car, is making an impulse decision. They go to the dealership and fall under the ether of the excitement. We help you to help yourself by essentially shielding you from the hype and only presenting facts to you.
If a person has a trade-in, how do you handle that?
We negotiate the trade-in value with the dealership, but we also have our own buyers for trades and we negotiate with them as well. Some people are hot for the car, some are not. So we really find who wants the car — we shop it for them. We find who's going to pay top dollar for the car.
How much variety can you offer your clients?
Basically, every dealership in South Africa is available to my clients, because I can control where the deal goes most of the time. I also have wholesalers (people who buy from private parties and sell to auctions or dealerships) that I utilize.
What would say are the advantages of using an Auto Broker?
Peace of mind and buying with confidence! Consumers who use our auto broker services enjoy the confidence of knowing that they have a professional advocate on their side in the car buying process, so they don't have to worry about the possibility of fraud, deception or other consumer woes that are all to common on the auto industry.
Using an auto broker saves consumers the time and effort of having to car-hunt at car dealerships, an activity which most people find to be less than desirable. Because auto brokers are essentially professional car buyers, the entire sale process is typically seamless and straightforward.
Are you working deals yourself?
Yes. I am working deals every day. I'm really on call 24/7, because work is always on my mind. I'm constantly in contact with my clients on the weekends and in the evening, but it's from my house or wherever I am as it is a family business. I grew up in the motor industry and it is an absolute passion of mine. I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life, with being able to create this business where I can genuinely help people.
